Bella Hadid is no stranger to an itty-bitty bikini of course, but the model took things to new levels in a recent beach photo shoot posted to social media. This top is so tiny, the nipples are so close to freedom on Instagram that they can smell it. It appears to be constructed of two artful pieces of driftwood held together with a thin chain and good vibes. It’s all very mermaid-chic in a way that feels more Calypso than Ariel. Not that I could see anyone literally swimming in this thing, but that’s clearly not the point.
Hadid paired the teeny top with a voluminous, pirate-inspired skirt and matching sleeves, keeping her face bare and hair damp. Altogether, the look is giving artful shipwreck. Her carousel of photos includes some low-fi, unedited shots (where you can literally see random beachgoers strolling around in the background), as well as more editorial-ready pics. She didn’t caption the photos but her mother, Yolanda Hadid, did comment with a series of heart emoji.

The look appears to be from Bella Hadid’s cover shoot for i-D magazine, which, in a follow-up Instagram post, she calls a dream she’s had for “pretty much my entire career.”
I-D also posted to Instagram from the photo shoot, writing in one caption, “In our final Fall cover story, this generation’s most stratospheric supermodel opens up about the impact Karen Elson and Carolyn Murphy had on her career, continuing her mission to speak out on issues affecting Palestinian people, and the joys on set of her acting debut in Hulu series Ramy.”
But does she get to keep the driftwood bikini?
